HI, I'M Tara
My roots influence my photography style deeply.
I have the structure and organization of an accounting undergrad, I have the endless pursuit of adventure and new things from now living in the Kootenays, and I have the rowdiness of growing up in a small town in northern BC.
All of these traits shine through when I work with my couples and families.
I LOVE planning, deep diving your vision and making sure your preferences are honoured when we carefully plan your timeline. I love the energy weddings and elopements bring and absolutely thrive at the edge of chaos. I also love finding the best locations to shoot together, better yet if we can get out on a trail to get a slice of the outdoors to ourselves to take your portraits.

I've been immersed in the wedding industry my entire life. With my Mom specializing as a bridal seamstress since I was a baby I've grown up talking about everything WEDDINGS! Becoming a wedding vendor was my destiny.
Weddings energize me. Full day coverage wedding days are my favourite length because I get my hands in ALL of it! Before I leave, you better believe I'm going to be busting a move of the d-floor with you.

Humans are SO bad for always moving onto the next. We focus so hard on a goal and once we achieve it we hardly take the time to celebrate it.
This is why wedding photography is so important to me. You spend so long planning this amazing day, perfect for you, and it's all over WAY too soon. Well, without properly documenting it you won't remember the little things that made that day so special.
You'll always remember marrying the love of your life but our brains need a little help pulling those specific little moments that make the memory rich and full of life.

my love story
costa rica circa 2012

It all started when I started flirting with the new bartender at the pub I was serving at back in 2012. The bartender, Mike, was clueless for a long time before he realized what I was up to. Before we started officially dating I had already roped him into going on a 10 day Costa Rica surf camp with me, as apprehensive as he was about it haha!
From there it was easy. We moved to the Okanagan together, got engaged moments before doing a tandem bungee jump in Whistler, got married in the Kootenays, fell in love with the mountains, moved to the mountains, and have now completed our little family where I am absolutely outnumbered by boys with a husband, two sons and our dog Gus.
My approach is simple. I want to capture the real you, as you are in this moment, not what you think you should be because of trends or social media. This is not about the pursuit of perfection, it's about the celebration of authenticity, raw emotions and no holds barred rowdiness.
The most important part of this process is you. How you feel through the entire wedding process is just as important as the final gallery of images. I want to capture your real, your raw. your weird, your love, and your end of the night sweaty dance moves.
